You have made me as a wave in your ocean

Your heart beat pushes me to and fro

Your steady rhythm cradles me

You bring my impurities to your shore

The debris that litters your beauty

Gently you carry it to the sandy beach

Though crashing upon the earth

Wounds and burns me inwardly

Your sun evaporates my wreckage

Your rays cauterize my form

Now lighter from my burden

You draw me back in

How I delight in your embrace

Let it linger a bit longer

I know this cannot now last

For your heart must beat again

I must be driven to the coast again

Purge me on the shoreline

So that I can be free again

In your grand body of water

You have hemmed me in

Yet I long for your mighty sea

To engulf me forevermore

As a still water far from the shore
